I am flying in to Shanghai and 24 hours later going on a cruise ship that takes us to Japan and South Korea, I'm doing three cruises though and going back to the Shanghai port three times (the last one I fly home from Shanghai. So a total of four times in a 13 day period, Can I use the 144 hour transit ? I never stay more than 30 hours (1st and last time the other two 12 hours in port)

Mirelle, could you please provide more information about your trip such as your detailed travel route?
If you will go to a third country or region rather the one you come from after each of your transit in Shanghai, you can use the free transit there. Otherwise, a visa may be needed.

So you mean your travel route will be like Sweden–Shanghai-Japan-South Korea-Shanghai-Japan-South Korea -Shanghai-Japan-South Korea-Shanghai-Sweden? If your layover time in Shanghai is less than 144 hours respectively, you can enjoy the free transit there.
