About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

If I have a Visa already but can I extend my visit before the start date of the visit by 1-2 days?

I am invited to a conference and have a non business type for the time of the conference. I would like to arrive 2 days before the conference and do some sites. Can I arrive early and get a 48hr bridge entry permit?

You can enter PRC a few days before the conference if the conference just last for several days. Usually, the stay duration of your entry permit will be a little longer than the days you require. And the entry permit can be used to enter PRC since its issuance date. So you can enter for a visit before the conference.
