About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Flight from Poland via Germany to Shanghai / return via Austria

Hi - when flying from Poland via Germany to Shanghai and returning back to Poland from Shanghai via Austria am I allowed to use the 144-hour free transit?
Is Germany considered as originating country in this case / Austria as the third country?
Thanks,
Pawel

Pawel, yes, you are right! If you travel like that and stay in Shanghai for less than 144 hours, you can enjoy the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai.
