from x to f visa

Question

Hi ! I currently have a student X type with multiple entries and therefore a resident permit. I want to change it for a F type, allowing me to stay in China after my current resident permit expires. Do I have to go out of the territory for that ?

Lara, you can try to change X type to F type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB. If it can be done, you don’t need to exit PRC; otherwise, you need to exit first and then apply for the F type.
