Hello, Planned journey is KUL->HGK(transit)->PVG(5 nights)PVG->HGK(3 nights)->KUL Is the above route qualify for 144 hour visa free for UK passport and Malaysia passport holders? I'm British married to Malaysian currently living in Malaysia. Thank you.

I'm afraid you cannot enjoy the 144 hour visa free in Shanghai; a Chinese visa is needed. According to the rules, you can only enjoy the visa-free stay if you head to the third country or region after your stay in Shanghai. If you follow KUL->HGK->PVG->KUL, you are qualified for 144 hour visa free.
