About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

72h transit Czech citizens from Bali

Hi there
My parents will be traveling to Prague from Bali via Shanghai, they are Czech citizens and I would like to book them a hotel as they have 17h stop over.
Is it possible to apply for the 72h transfer in advance?
And do they need still get visa?

Kami, they are eligible for the 72-hour free transit, so the transit G type entry permit is not necessary. But they can't apply for the free transit in advance. After arriving at Shanghai airport, they can follow the diretion signs and go to the 72h free transit passage to apply for it.
