About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi I am travelling uk-dubai- Bejing -Xian fly then from Xian -Hong Kong -Dubai -uk

for the China and Hong kong the total time in China is 4 days and Hong kong 4 days what Visa would i require

Janet, UK passport holders can enjoy free entry to HK for a stay of no more than 180 days.
As for your travel to mainland PRC, you cannot enjoy the 144 hour free transit because it is only carried out in Shanghai, Zhejiang and Jiangsu. So I’m afraid you need to apply for a tourist L type or transit G type beforehand.

Thank you Gary, that has helped me so much :) just a point of interest if we flew to Hong Kong from Shanghai would be be able to use the 144hr free transit?

If you fly like this UK-Dubai- Shanghai-Hong Kong, you are able to sue the 144 hour free transit.
