About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Onward ticket to the next destination

I'm just want to clarify what they meant by an onward ticket to the next destination. Does this mean a printed confirmation with flight information, seat number and ticket number? Is this sufficient information (along with passport) to show to customs when requesting the 144-hour free transit? Do you actually need to show your boarding pass to the next destination? (I'm assuming you don't show a boarding pass since you can't check-in earlier than your departing flight from Shanghai.) Just want to get clarification on this.

Thank you so much!

Lorna, the boarding pass is not necessary. You just need to show a printed confirmation of the booking order.
