About:Marriage Registration in China

Verification of marriage certificate

My Chinese wife and I got married in Abu Dhabi and the marriage certificate is in English and Arabic. How can she get this accepted as a legal marriage in China?

The first step is to get the marriage certificate notarized by the local notary public and then get it authenticated by the ministry of foreign affairs of UAE. Afterwards, get the marriage certificate certified by the embassy of PRC.
The next step is to return to PRC and change her marital status at the marriage registration department in her home town. In this case, her marriage will be accepted as a legal marriage in PRC.
