About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transit Visa for Panamanian

Hi:

I am a Panamanian that live in South Korea under a student permit. I was planning to go to Cambodia and the flying route is South Korea - China - Cambodia. Flying back from Thailand - PRC - South Korea. The lay over in China is a little bit longer, so I will love to visit there. Can I apply for the Direct Transit within 24 hours? If is possible, Can I request the permission to entry in the airport or I have to require in advance in PRC Consulate or Embasy in South Korea? How much this cost? I will be traveling with my boyfriend, who is a United State of American Citizen, which is the procedure for him? I understood that he is allowed for the 72 hours free transit. However, does he need to require it at the airport? Thanks in advance for your help. Respectfully, Lill

Lill, as long as you transit in China for less than 24 hours, you can make use of the 24-hour direct transit policy. You can request the permission to enter at the airport. It's free of charge. Your bf can enjoy the 24-hour free transit. The procedure is the same as you. He also need to apply for a temporary stay permit to leave the airport.
