About:China Transit Visa

Will I need a transit visa? If so which type?

I am US citizen returning to Honolulu, HI USA after vacation in Thailand. Return flight is as follows

BKK to Kunming (14 hr layover) to Shanghai (4 hr layover) to Honolulu, HI USA.

Roger, no, you don’t need it. As your total layover time in PRC is less than 24 hours, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit.
