About:Shanghai Transportation by Air

Pudong or Hongqiou; how to Nanjing

Hello. I need to be in Nanjing University as soon as possible. I'm going to fly from Jakarta to Shanghai. 1) I am not sure it should be Pudong or Hongqiou; 2) how to get to Nanjing University? Thank you..

1. International flights usually land in Pudong airport.
2. From Pudong airprot, you can take airport shuttle bus line 5 to SH Railway Station. The shuttle bus departs from 5:10 to 21:30 every 20-30 minutes. Ticket fare is CNY 20-30 and duration is about 70 minutes. Upon arrival, you can take a high speed train to Nanjing Railway Station. For the train schedule, you can search on this website. Nanjing University has several campuses. Are you going to the main campus in Gulou district? If yes, you can take subway line 1 from Nanjing Railway Station to Drum Tower, then walk to the campus.

Thank you Leo. The venue is The School of Architecture and Urban
Planning which am not sure about the district name. The campus map shows it is near Gulou Park so I think you are right... I read on internet its not possible for me to buy and collect train ticket online due to origin documents, so I guess I will buy on the spot at shanghai railway station booth, right.

Jakarta-Pudong fllight arrives at about 3pm, when do you think i will reach Nanjing University? and whats the nearest station to the university? Thanks again, Leo.. Really need your help..

Of course you can buy the ticket at the booth upon arrival at the station. Just hope you won't travel on a holiday, when the tickets may sell out days before.

If it is the one close to Gulou Park, it's the main campus and it is close to Nanjing Railway Station. From Pudong airport all the way to the campus, it may take 1 (pudong airport to SH railway Station)+2 (SH railway Station to Nanjing Railway Station) +0.5 hours (Nanjing Railway station to campus) + 1 hour for tansfer between different transport.
