About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do we need visa to visit Shanghai City?

On our way to Vancouver From New Delhi we have 12 hrs lay over at Shanghai. Do we need entry permit to visit Shanghai City? if yes what should be the procedure? and the charges there on?

Ramesh, no, you don’t need any entry permit because you qualify for the 24 hour free transit. You just need to apply for a temporary stay permit at the airport and then you can leave the airport and visit the city. The temporary stay permit is free of charge.
