How can I go from Shanghai to Hangzhou Thousand Islets Lake?

1. There is one departure from SH south long-distance bus station to the lake at 14:25. Ticket fare is about CNY120. From Songjiang university town, you can take subway line 9 to Yishan Road, then change to line 3 to SH South Railway Station, then walk about 500 yards to the bus station.

2. At SH Hutai Road Long-distance bus station, there is also a direct bus to the lake at 13:40. From your place, you can take subway line 9 to Xujiahui, then change to line 1 to North Zhongshan Road, then walk about 1000 yards to reach the bus station.

Thanks for the reply.Is there any other option from Hangzhou to the 1000 island lake? Because from SH the departure time is afternoon.I want to leave SH in the morning for the 1000 islands lake and would like to come back in the evening.Please suggest me.

The buses depart from Hangzhou West bus station to the lake from 06:00 to 18;50 with an interval of no more than 30 minutes. Ticket fare is CNY 70 and duration is about 2 hours.

If you arrive at Hangzhou Railway station from SH, you can take bus 49 to get to the West Bus Station; if you arrive at Hangzhou East Railway station, you can take bus B4 or 179 to get there. Both the duration is about an hour.

If count in the time from SH to Hangzhou (1.5 hours at least), one day is not enough for the onward trip and back. You'd better arrange two days for this trip.

Don’t worry. There is no special bus number for this bus route, but there will be sign boards in English showing the destinations.

If you take a taxi the whole way, the fare would be CNY500-600.
