About:China Transit Visa

Philippine passport holders, transiting from Manila to Jeju with stopovers in Shanghai amd Beijing

Me and my bestfriend are going to Cheju Island in South Korea, but our plane will have a stopover in Shanghai (4h) for our flight from Manila to Cheju and multiple stopovers on our return flight from Cheju to Manila. Our stopover in China (on the return flight) will be at Shanghai Pudong (11 h) and in Beijing (3h). Do we still need to get a visa?

Mei Ling, you don't need to get it. You can enjoy the 24-hour direct transit on both ways.

Thank you!!

What if we want to go out of the airport and enjoy the scenery of Shanghai while waiting for our next connecting flight? Would we need an entry permit for that?

Dear, you can just apply for a temporary stay permit at the immigration counter and then you can leave the airport to enjoy the scenery of Shanghai. The temporary stay permit is free of charge.
