About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Manchester - Shanghai - Dubai

Hello - I am travelling from Manchester to Shanghai and then on to Dubai. However there is a Dubai connection on my original flight. Although I'm only connecting in Dubai on the way to Shanghai, would this count as going back to the same county?

Dom, if so, you cannot enjoy the free transit in Shanghai. Even though you just have a connection in Dubai, when you go back, it will be counted as going back to the departure country. In this case, you may need to apply for a tourist L type in advance.
