About:China Visa on Arrival

Shenzhen 5-day visa restrictions?

If you get a Shenzhen 5-day VOA at the land frontier can you go to Shenzhen airport and get a flight to Shanghai?

Do you have to exit the same way through the Shenzhen land frontier?

Peter, I’m afraid not. The 5-day VOA will only allow you to travel around the administrative area of Shenzhen. So you cannot go to Shanghai during that period.

So how big is the Shenzhen area and how does anybody know if you've left the area?

Dear, covering an area of 493, 432 acres (1996.85 square km), Shenzhen is a sub-provincial city in Guangdong Province. It has six administrative districts and four management new districts. So it’s big enough for you to travel around.
If you take flight or train to other places, your passport will be inspected. In this case, they will know you leave Shenzhen area.
