About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do we need visas.

Me and my family are booked on a cruise sailing from Singapore into Vietnam, Hong Kong, Xiamen, South Korea, Bejing. Do we need an entry permit as apart from Hong Kong (2 days) the others are only day visits. Very confused about all this.
Many Thanks
Sam Stanton

Sam, you don’t need it to HK because UK passport holders can enjoy free entry to HK for a stay of no more than 180 days.
If you go to Xiamen for a day from HK and after transiting in Xiamen, you will go to South Korea, you don’t need it in Xiamen either because you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit.
As for Beijing, if you go to Beijing from South Korea, and after one-day trip in Beijing, you will go to a third country or region rather than South Korea, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct, so no entry permit is required.
