Fiorella, you can apply for an F type to attend the symposium and the following documents are required:
1. Your passport and copy of its data page
2. The application form with a recently-taken passport-style photo attached
3. Your residence permit in Japan
4. An invitation letter from the organizer of the international symposium
And then submit your application to the consulate general of PRC to apply for it. You don’t need to make an appointment to bring the documents.
