Canadian citizen - single entry visa for symposium in China

Hello,

I am a Canadian citizen (prof. at University of Ottawa)m currently a visiting scholar in Waseda University, Tokyo, for a period of three months (leaving Japan at the end of this December). I have just been invited for a 2 days international symposium at Sichuan University in Chengdu for this mid-December.

I would like to know if I can apply directly to the Chinese Embassy in Tokyo with the form indicated on this website and with the invitation letter from the organizers from Sichuan University.

I would like to mention that I have several Chinese entry permits in my passport, the last one being from this past summer when I taught an invited course in Sichuan University.

Thank you,

Ioan
