Wanting to Visit Hong Kong from Australia and need to take prescription medications with me

Is there a list or a permission needed to take medication into Hong Kong from Aus ?

Generally, you can take small dose only enough for self use amount. There won't be a problem. But remember to take the doctor's prescript along with you just in case.
