Hi Catherine! You need to apply for a tourist entry permit (L type), which can be applied from the CVASC in Montreal.

In Mid October, the average temperature of Shanghai is between 59 and 73 Fahrenheit (15 and 23 degree centigrade). It's warm and mild.
