About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Do I keep a Nepal visa beforehand?

I will be taking a flight from Chicago to Kathmandu, with a layover in Shanghai for 14 hours. I was planning on getting my entry permit for Nepal in the Kathmandu airport. Will I need this ahead of time in order to get the 72 hour free pass in Shanghai?

Ashley, you don’t have to.
You can just print out the relevant VOA policy of Nepal and when you pass through the immigration section, you can show it to the officers. In this case, you can use the 72 hour free transit.
