About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Re the 144 visa-free transit in Shanghai

I will going to Shanghai (SHA) via Beijing and departing Shanghai (PVG) 5 days later to Tokyo, Japan.
Am I qualified for the 144 free transit in Shanghai?

Cindy, if so, you cannot enjoy the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai because you have stops in Beijing and Shanghai. You should apply for a transit G type or tourist L type beforehand.

Dont do that without an netry permit please- we got deported right back to the U.S right after landing. Cannot connect in China to get to another city in PRC for free transit. They refused to even let us book a quick flight to Hong Kong or anywhere else as the '3rd' country.
