do I qualify for the 72 hours visa free transit in Guangzhou?

Hello,
Is it possible to use the 72 hours free transit if I arrive in Guangzhou from Manila may 1. Take a train to Hong Kong may 3 and catch my flight to Amsterdam may 4.

No, you can't. To use the free transit policy, you have to go from Guangzhou to HK by air.

Is it possible than to use the 24 hours transit? And if so if I arrive at 1:00 on may 1 when do I have to leave 1:00 at may 2 or 23:59 at the latest.

Normally I get an entry permit but the price is now 125 euro quite expensive for a 1 day visit.

Paul, if you make sure that your total layover time in Guangzhou is less than 24 hours, you can use the 24 hour direct transit. Nice trip!
The 24 hours here start from the 1:00 on May 1 to 1:00 on May 2.
