About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

I will be arriving in Xiamen by cruise ship on Jan 23 and will be in port from 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM

Is it possible to get a 72-hour free transit for that stay or will I need to get a regular visa?

Jennie, you cannot get 72 hour free transit because it is only applicable to those by flights. But because you just stay for less than 24 hours in Xiamen, if you will go to a third country or region rather than the last one the cruise departed, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit. In this case, no entry permit is required.
