Possible to Change L visa to Z type in Hong Kong

I am a U.S. citizen,went to Bejing China on a program worked as an intern and studied Mandarin,now they want to hire me. Can I change my L type to a Z type in Hong Kong instead of going all the way back to the U.S.? I

Dear, actually, if you want to change L type to Z type, you should do it at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB in mainland PRC. You can try to change from there.
If it cannot work, you can go to HK to try to apply for a work Z type.
