About:Hong Kong Airport Express

Hong Kong Transportation Card: Group Tickets are only valid on the day of issue.

Note 1) Group Tickets are only valid on the day of issue.

Does it mean that group tickets are same as same day return ticket?
We are 4 and plan to stop over(12h). In this case, which one is better?
1. Same day return ticket : $100 X 4person
2. Group of 4 ticket : $280? or $280 X 2way

No, it's different from the same day return ticket. It's means that you need to use the AE trip on the purchasing date of Group Ticket. If you bought the ticket and planned to use it on the next day, the tickets will become invalid.
According to your short stopover in HK, you are advised to buy the Group Tickets for the round-trip.
For example, the fare for Group of 4 is 280 HKD for the single trip. Thus the round-trip costs 560 HKD.
