About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

24 Hour Transit visa for Indian Passport holder from USA

I am Transiting thru Guangzhou to India with family from USA. My kids are US passport holders but we both are Indian passport. My arrival at CAN at 10 pm and departure from CAN is next morning 10.30am (transit time of 12 hours. Do I have to apply for an entry permit before travel from San francisco or can I get free transit at CAN on arrival. I guess I don't have to take my checked in baggage with me during the transit (planning to stay in a hotel) Many thanks in advance for answering my question.

John, you can get free transit on arrival at CAN. To go outside of the airport, you need to apply for a temporary stay permit.

If you hold a joint-way ticket (not seperated tickets), you don't need to collect your luggage at Guangdong. You can double check this with the airline staff.
