About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Philipines-Shanghai-HK via Rail

With the new 144hr visa can I fly into Shanghai from the Philippines then leave via fast train to HK?

The 144 hour policy says you can only travel within three provinces so travelling to HK via rail means going through many provinces but of course only changing trains (in Guangzhou).

Dave, if you hold Philippines passport, you cannot use the 144 hour free transit. However, if your total layover time in PRC is less than 24 hours, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit. In this case, no entry permit is required, either.

Forget to mention I have an Australian passport. My question relates to using HSR to depart rather than by air.

Dear, if so, you can use the 144 hour visa free transit even though you will leave by HSR.
