About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Onward journey via Spring airlines confirmed but no ticket

Hi, I'm travelling from London to Shanghai and then will be going on to Tokyo two days later and then going home from Japan too. I have a confirmed ticket from Shanghai to Tokyo with Spring Airlines who it turns out only issue the ticket when I get to Shanghai. I have proof of purchase of my onward tickets - will this be ok for the visa without transit?
