About:Chinese Embassy in Mexico

Work Visa application, Filipino Citizen, curr. passport expires Dec16 2016, new passport applied

Deloitte(china) advised me that they will apply for my expert(or expat) permit and residence permit using my current passport but the expiry date of each permit will be the same as my passport expiry date, which is dec 16, 2016. am also advised that i am required to update the passport number on the issued expert(or expat) permit and transfer the residence permit to new passport once i receive it (the philippine embassy estimates i could receive the new passport in may 2016).

Deloitte(china) asked me to clarify with the china embassy (mexico) if it would not be a problem when i apply for chinese z-type using the new passport, if it is issued before i enter china since, the employment license and z-type invitation letter will be applied for using the current passport.

According to what I have known, you can use the current passport to apply for the alien employment permit and invitation letter of a duly authorized unit, and after you get the new passport, you take the above-mentioned documents and your two passport to apply for the work Z type and residence permit.
