About:China Visa Exemption

Cruise ship from Hong Kong with stop at Sanya, China for about 10 hours

From Sanya the ship will go to Vietnam and Singapore. Are we eligible for the 24-hr visa exemption, even though we're arriving by cruise ship and not by air?
