About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Brief stay at nearby hotel using 72 hour visa-free transit

My wife, son and I have a six hour transit to do in Guangzhou next week. We are planning on spending a few hours in a hotel very close to the airport. Will we be able to leave our hold luggage with the airline (as if we weren't leaving airport) as it will already be checked through to Auckland? Thanks.

Dear, as for luggage, you should contact with the airline and see if it will be delivered to the final destination. If not, you need to claim it after getting off from the plane and then check-in again. Besides, I’m afraid you need to apply for a temporary stay permit at the airport if you need to leave the airport to stay at a hotel and it’s free of charge.
