Brief visit to Beijing

Hi,

just want to make sure I get this right.
I am flying Kathmandu - Beijing - Berlin and I am planning on staying in Beijing for 6 days/ less than 144 hours. Would this be feasible?

If I arrive in China over another airport but then have a connecting flight to Beijing, I would not be eligible for the 144 hours visa, correct?
