Visa type for short-term business move to China with multiple exits and re-entries

I will be moving to China for anywhere from 6 months to a year to start a biotech distribution company. While there I will be setting up laboratories, hiring and training Chinese scientists and running 1-3 laboratories, running operations, and running business development. We have a US parent company with a Chinese subsidiary. Does anyone know what type of entry permit I will need? I will be going in and out of the country throughout the duration of my stay. What will be necessary for the required entry permit (I am assuming I will need an R or Z type).

Ashley, I think a multiple-entry business M type is for your choice. The required documents include your passport and copy of its data page, the filled-out application form attached with a passport-sized color photo taken recently, and an invitation letter from your subsidiary company in PRC.
