About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

72 hour transit plus 144 in Shanghai

Was wondering if it is possible to use the 72 hour transit visa in Beijing and then fly out to sanya ( for example ) for a week or so, then to Shanghai for 4 days, therefore only staying for 144 hours. Is this possible?

Hey Clarissa, if you change Sanya to Hong Kong or Macau, then your plan is ok and you can enjoy the 72-hour free transit in Beijing the 144-hour free transit in Shanghai.
