About:Changbai Mountain

Southern entrance of Changbaishan.

My partner and I will be visiting here in April and are hoping to visit through the North, West + South entrances over the period of 1 week. Information on the South entrance is scarce but it looks possible for a foreigner (Australian) to enter via the South entrance if we are with an organised tour group? Is this true, and will we need specific paperwork? Thanks in advance!

You are right with the southern entrance. You have to join a tour in advance and your agency will reserve a tour there. Then no specific paperwork is needed. The entrance fee in southern entrance is CNY1,000/person by the way.

Thanks for the confirmation, Julia. And for the heads up on that entrance fee!
