About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

I have a British passportd need to visit Shsnghai for 5 days.

I bold a british passport valid till 2025.i Reside and work in jakarta.need to attebd a conference in shanghai from 14.03 to 18.03.have paid $ 3500.
Do i need to apply for a visa and how many days will it take to get it?

Rajah, if you fly to Shanghai from Jakarta, and after stay in Shanghai, you fly to a third country or region rather than Jakarta, you can enjoy the 144 hour free transit, in this case, no entry permit is required.
But after stay in Shanghai, if you fly back to Jakarta, you need to apply for an entry permit in advance of your trip. It usually takes 4 working days.
