I can visit before these dates but not after - i.e. I need to be back in work for the 20th September.

Yes, it is a good time, though the best time lasts from October to March. In September, it is still hot, enjoys many cloudy days and may rain sometimes. You are advised to take T-shirts, shorts, sandals, and an umbrella. Have a wonderful time! :)
