72hrs visit from Hongkong

I am fying into hongkong and staying there for a week. I was hoping I could go to mainland China afterward for 2 or 3 days to visit before flying back to the US from. Hongkong. .. Do I need a visa to enter China for these 2 or 3 days?

Hi Mary, if you fly from HK to Shanghai and then to the US, you can enjoy the 144-hour free transit service there. If you visit other mainland cities where the 72-hour free transit policy has been implemented, it's possible to use this policy.
