If you do not know any one in PRC at present, I think you should apply for a tourist L type visa to enter. First, you need to book round-trip tickets and hotels. Then prepare a passport valid for at least six months, a copy of the passport, a duly filled application form attached with your recent photo, along with the transportation tickets and hotel bookings. Then go to the embassy to submit the application.
