About:Chinese Embassy in Colombia

Chinese tourist visa for British Citizens in Columbia

Hi there,
We have been travelling in South America for a few months and expect to arrive in Columbia in early March. We have flights booked from Bogota to Beijing on the 16/04/16 and understand we need to get tourist L type. We are British citizens and expect to stay in PRC for around two months before going to Japan. Could you please give us some information on the following:
- Cost?
- Length of time it will take to obtain?
- Requirements from us for our application?
- Are there any other Chinese embassies in Columbia other than Bogota?

Hi Sarah!
1. The cost for a single-entry L type is 114,000 pesos, just for your reference. Because of the newly signed mutual agreement between China and UK, the fee might be higher than this.
2. The normal application process takes four working days. If you use express service, it takes three working days.
3. You need to submit your passports, passport copies, application forms, bare-headed photos, the original and photocopy of entry permit to Colombia, and round-trip tickets and hotel bookings for the coming trip.
4. Besides the embassy in Bogota, there is a consulate in Barranquilla.

We haven't fully planned out trip with hotel bookings etc, is it possible to not submit this information, for example if we are able to prove we have sufficient funds for the time we are there?

Sarah, I’m afraid the hotel reservation is necessary, but you can provide the rough hotel booking record.
If you cannot provide it indeed, you can find a travel agency and ask it to issue an invitation letter to you. In this case, you may not need to provide hotel reservation.
