About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hong Kong and Shanghai? are we eligible for 144 hour free transit?

How strict are they on the hours? If we're planning to leave the next day after the visa expires is that okay? We are planning to arrive in Hong Kong Oct 7th to Oct 10th then Shanghai from Oct 10th and return back to California on Oct 14th. Are we able to use the 144 hour free transit or should we shorten our trip by a day?

Brittney, you don't need to shorten your trip. Actually you can stay in Shanghai for as long as six days. And the free transit period starts from the following day after your arrival!

So I can technically do 144 hours in each stop? That's amazing. Thank you so much for your help.
