About:Policy for Foreigners with Immediate Family Living in China

not applying resident permit on X1 type visa

i am studying in china for aprox 5 months therefore i should be given X2 type but the letter recommendation from the school was wrong and stated 7 months so i was given X1 type where i need to apply for resident permit etc.. very complicated!! i was wondering if i leave china before 6 months without having resident permit will there be any problem? is it ok not to apply for resident permit on X1 type when it instruct me to apply?

If you enter with student X1 type, you have to register and apply for a residence permit at the local PSB within 30 days after your entry.

Dear, anyway, you need to go to the local PSB to register no matter which type you hold. It is the relevant regulation and I think you should follow it.
