About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

2 stops in Gguangzhou and Beijing, is transit visa required?

My parents are flying from Australia to Europe with China Southern Airlines and have 2 transits in Guangzhou and Beijing. They do not want to leave the airport and just want to continue their flights. Do they need a visum for this? My parents both hold a Dutch Passport.
Thanks

Sigrid, first, they cannot use the 72 hour free transit because they will stop in two Chinese cities. But there is another option. If their total layover time in the two cities is less than 24 hours, they can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit. In this case, no entry permit is required.
