About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

I am student in China. Husband had visa extended to 6 months now want type s1/2

I am student of 3 years duration. I have my student X1. My husband came with me in September from Mauritius, which doesnot need tourist entry permit if stay is less than 30 days. He had his L type extended in October, but at PSC they said, cannot extend directly to S1 since he did not have entry permit upon entry in the country. they extended his entry permit to 6 months but I dont know the type (not written). Now we want to extend to S1. We went for information at PSC, they said to contact my university (who are on holiday till march!). Do have some information please?

MJ, is there a visa sticker on his passport? If yes, he can use it and change it to a spouse S type, and your university needs to provide an invitation letter. But if not, I’m afraid he needs to exit first and then apply for an S type in your home country to enter again.

Daer, it’s okay. As long as he has a sticker on the passport, he can probably change it to S type. Just have a try!
