72 hour visa free transit? Do I qualify?

Hello. I'm wondering if I travel from Bangkok to Beijing with a layover in Hong Kong. Then from Beijing to New York with no layover. Do I qualify for the 72 hour visa. I'm an American citizen. Thank you.

Ciara, you can enjoy the free transit in Beijing.
As for HK, South Korean passport holders can enjoy free entry to go there for a stay of no more than 90 days.
