route plan in guangzhou

I am thinking it the following route.After I check in my hotel, I go the the Chen family temple, then Shamian island, then Canton tower. Can I take from the Island to Canton tower?How to travel from Chen family temple to the island?

To Canton Tower: take metro line 1 from Huangsha Station to West Tiyu Road Station. Then, change to metro line 3 to Canton Tower, Exit A.To the Island: take metro line 1 from Chen Clan Academy to Huangsha Station, Exit E. Then, walk east for about 400 yards to the place.
