z visa to x type

hi, i entered china with z type and have 1 year working resident permit, but i'll end my contract with the company that i'm working for after Chinese new year holiday. is it possible to exchange my Z type, if so, how?I'd like to have another visa that can allow me to stay in chine, prefer x type.

Diallo, you can possibly change work Z type to student X type at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB. But the first thing is to find a school to enroll you and then you will get the admission letter. Afterwards, you need to provide your passport and its copy, the application form and a passport-sized color photo, your residence permit in PRC, JW201 or JW202 form as well as the admission letter. Next, go to the local PSB and try to change Z type to X type.  However, if it doesn’t work, I’m afraid you have to go back to your home country and re-apply.
